Inquisitive means having or showing an interest in learning things.
Being inquisitive can help us to learn and develop our knowledge & skills. It is also an example of how you use creativity in different areas of your life through experiencing new things/hobbies. Being inquisitive means being able to ask questions and being curious about things.
Research suggests that our interests and hobbies are a strong indicator of our curiosity and, additionally, that we’re more likely to develop useful skills and abilities when we’re curious about something.
It makes your mind active instead of passive, Curious people always ask questions and search for answers in their minds. Their minds are always active. Since the mind is like a muscle which becomes stronger through continual exercise, the mental exercise caused by curiosity makes your mind stronger and stronger.
It makes your mind observant of new ideas, When you are curious about something, your mind expects and anticipates new ideas related to it. When the ideas come they will soon be recognised.
It opens up new worlds and possibilities, By being curious you will be able to see new worlds and possibilities which are normally not visible.
Be open to the ideas of others, actively listen to other people's point of view, embrace diversity.
Actively seek out new ways of learning and gaining new skills.
Adopt a growth mindset, this means you believe you can develop your talent & skills and you see areas of development rather than weaknesses.
Explore different hobbies, find out different things you are interested in. These help you to develop who you are s a person and gives you valuable life skills as well as a healthy wellbeing!
Learn something new! This can be as simple as trying out a new healthy recipe.
Get social! you can learn a lot from other people, listen to their point of views and embrace diversity.
Use this as an opportunity to learn more about the industry you are interested in as a career. Speak to your tutors, find industry placements, learn more about different roles that you can do!
Take part in different college clubs to help you expand your knowledge and learning!
Expand your knowledge! : learn new things, explore your specialisations as well as search out new knowledge.
Being inquisitive helps you to come up with better solutions to challenges, increased agility, and readiness to move in different directions. For teams, greater curiosity can increase efficiency and productivity, reduce group conflict and decision-making errors, and create an environment that is better able to accept new members into the team and embrace diversity among them.
On an individual basis being inquisitive can help you to engage more within your work and has been linked to career progression!
