What does it mean to be a risk taker?
They are people who refuse to accept the status quo and always think outside the box being able to outline how introducing something seemingly random can support creativity leading to innovation. In this way they can effectively execute an innovative idea.
If you are a risk taker you are often capable of seeing the bigger picture and not each decision in isolation and are able to understand how different perspectives can support creativity/innovation.

Define a smart risk You do not want to take reckless risks that can negatively impact your workplace To avoid this, make sure you define what a “smart risk” is. This is something that you need to speak to your manager about to understand what the company 'smart risks' are.
Say yes to things outside your comfort zone in the workplace and social life as this will help you to develop as an individual, gain new skills and help with your progression.

Start a new hobby! Hobbies can give us valuable life skills, boost morale, help our wellbeing and also helps us to learn from others. Not only this but it helps to keep us feeling motivated. Having hobbies is something that stands out to employers. Remember, you do not have to be good at a hobby but you just have to enjoy it and keep practicing!
Applying for an Industry Placement, you may not always get accepted for the placement you apply for but it is still a great opportunity to take a risk and apply because you gain application experience and your applications will get better with practice.
