Being self reliant means being confident in your own abilities and being able to do things for yourself.
What does it mean to be self reliant?
Someone who is self reliant can overcome temptations to stray from the path to success. Self-reliant employees work hard and often need little to no supervision.
If you are self reliant you are good at setting goals, sticking to them and reviewing your own progress. If you are a self reliant person you are able to organise and prioritise what needs to be done independently.
Thinking independently, in the workplace you will have to be confident in make your own decisions to support your work.
Taking control of your workload and being able to manage this effectively using other skills such as being organised & time management.
Embracing your Individuality, do things that make you happy and be proud of the things that make you you! embracing your individuality can make it easier for you to make choices about your life choices as you know what makes you happy.
Start having confidence in making your own safe decisions.
Strive towards your goals, know what your career goals are and understand how college can help support you to achieve them. Setting goals and achieving them your own way not only gives you a sense of accomplishment and reward but greater belief in your own judgment.
Seek out opportunities to help you reach your goals such as finding an industry placement opportunity.
Create your own study schedule and make sure you stick to this.
