Having capability or being capable means you have the potential to complete a task however you might not have mastered the skill yet.
What does it mean if you are capable?
Being a capable person means someone who has a wider skill set than subject specific. These skills will be a combination of all other employability skills. These skills are transferable from job to job. Being capable also means being able to reflect on these skills and identify opportunities to improve further.
Being able to carry out your work role without being told what to do and showing you are capable of working independently. This could include you having to overcome challenges.
Seeking more responsibility, doing your job to a high standard and being able to identify other areas/tasks that may need support and development from yourself.
Continue to develop and practice your hobbies, improvement can lead to a sense of good wellbeing and feeling capable. Practicing your commitment helps to develop capability.
Capability and resilience links together, sometimes in life we will go through difficult times, it is important recognise these but knowing the situation will change and you can move forward and feel capable.
Being able to work independently, instilling trust in your tutors for them to know that you are able to work independently safely.
Attend other training or ways to develop your skills and knowledge to help you develop at college and in your career.
