About Our Guest

Emmie Johnston

I am 17 years old and I have dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and ADHD. This journey began when I was diagnosed with Dyslexia in the fifth grade. I then was living in fear and isolation throughout middle school. When I began high school I was screened again to find out I also had Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, and ADHD. The lack of support and understanding in my education prompted me to create my nonprofit organization The S.H.I.E.L.D. Foundation of Kansas. With the mission to "Stop the Stigma" by Sending, Help, Information, and Education, for Learning Disabilities. I am dedicated to empowering individuals to embrace their learning differences and reach their full potential. Join me in making a difference, one shield at a time.
