Attachment 1 - The English 1 students spent time during their first unit analyzing texts and articles related to the theme of conformity: When is it is good to follow conformity and when should one stand up against it? How do you effectively support your cause? Students then read a dystopian-themed short story that inspired them to create their own dystopian-themed plotline. The students then used the plotline to write an interview for one or more of their characters. They then recorded that interview and turned it into a narrative podcast. This project-based learning activity allowed the students to use a digital recording platform to record their voices as well as import sound effects and music to the podcast. Finally, the students turned this recording into an mp3 digital file.
