Please join the Slack channel "ex_cvd-1st" in order to share information about CVD (1st).
The reservation system with Google calendar started on 2021.05.18.
CVD 1st has a monitoring system (pressure, temperature, etc) on the laptop. When you leave the room while running the furnace, use this system and stay in the building. For more details, ask Otsuka.
For the history of electric leakage around the CVD 1st, check here.
2024.04.08 Isotope ethanol (1-13C) is refilled (1 g). Also, air leakage into the empty glass container was measured, and it was sufficiently small. Otsuka
2023/08/16 Just for record. Electric current in the furnace (100% power) was ~6 A, and that of ribbon heaters is ~0.77 A. Temperature of ethanol MFC was ~108 deg.C. Otsuka
2023/08/14 Electric leakage accident happened. When I finished the CVD procedure and unlocked the CVD equipment to reset, the electric leakage lamp and buzzer were on. After pushing the buzzer bottom, and waiting for about 20min, the lamp was off and the system went back to its normal status. Currently, the cause of the accident is still unclear so please wear the rubber glove and rubber shoes every time when you use CVD just in case. Bowen Zhang
2022/10/15 Electric leakage occurred (alert went off). The cause is unclear, but it stopped when the thyristors were unplugged. Hu, Otsuka.
2022/09/21 CO2 cylinder is temporarily replaced by CH4 cylinder. Otsuka
2022/03/04 C2H2 cylinder is replaced by Ar/C2H2 (2%) cylinder. MFC is also changed to the one with full range of 10 sccm. Otsuka
2022/02/24 13C ethanol (1 g, purchased on 190516) is refilled. Otsuka
2020/08/14 The needle valve was replaced with a new one. Otsuka, Kobayashi
2020/06/16 C2H2 line was connected. Ask me if you want to use. Inoue
2018/12/13 The pump was replaced with a new pump. Okay! Inoue, Yamamoto

Rules on electric furnaces
Basically, you have to stay close to the CVD furnaces during the experiment because they could cause a fire.
As far as the monitoring system is working, it is allowed for you to tentatively move away from furnaces. But you have to keep checking the web camera images inside Eng. Building 2. You must not go away from our building during CVD (when the furnace is on).
