Powers of Ten

In 5th grade students are introduced to powers of ten for the first time. They observe the patterns that happen when they multiply and divide by powers of ten. By taking note of these patterns and applying their understanding of place value, students understand how and why the decimal point moves. Included are videos and an anchor chart that share some of the vocabulary and concepts your child is learning.
