Long Term Learners are students who have been in your course for 21+ weeks. The average weeks to complete our course is under 20 weeks. If a student has been active in your course for over 21 weeks, it is imperative that you call the family each week to ensure they stay engaged to finish successfully.
Here are a few tips to help as you reach out weekly:
When you speak with a student who is way behind in pace, setup a success plan for them with weekly, short-term goals.
Ex: “Mrs. Smith and Joe, what do you think about working on 3.08 and then calling me for 3.09 for this week?”
Have a weekly time for “EGR” (extra grace required) students to check on in Outlook
Send student text reminder close to deadline
Note: If a student has an extenuating circumstance going on, work with them and make note in VSA comments, and we can place them in pending exam.
