The 14 day seat time starts when the first assignment is submitted in the segment, students should work consistently on course throughout the 14 day period. (This does not mean 1 assignment each day) There should not be long periods of time with no work – please reach out to lead or IL to discuss specific situations. Segment 1 needs to be completed before allowing student to start Segment 2. The first assignment submitted in segment 2, after segment 1 is completed, starts the 14 day seat time for segment 2. (it does not matter if work was submitted prior in segment 2 – that work does not count for the 14 day seat time). One way to ensure work is spread out, is to spread out the DBAs throughout the 14 day period. The segment exam password cannot be given to the student until the 14th day.
You need IL approval when reinstating a student that has been withdrawn for over 30 days.
You need IL approval when resetting a student's final exam for a second time.
You need IL approval when a student needs to submit/resubmit an assignment after the final exam has been submitted.
Always rely on Educator for the most up-to-date information when finalizing a grade. Be sure that the grade in VSA and Educator match before moving forward with finalizing a grade. Make sure you have verified final grade with student and/or parent before finalizing because students are unable to revise work once they take the exam.
If you leave a voicemail, give them a deadline for responding you should issue the grade within 24 - 48 hours whether you hear from the student/parent or not).
If there is a situation where the student needs to resubmit work after taking the exam, the teacher must gain approval from the IL and document approval– and they still have to resubmit ALL work within 48 hours.
