On Friday, our special Friday Friend Reader was Dr. Jessi Grantham, Brooker’s mommy. She visited our class at First Academy and read us a story. Dr. Jessi also showed us the correct way to brush our teeth with Dudley and talked to us about how to keep our teeth healthy. Since February is National Dental Health Month, it was the perfect time to learn about taking care of our smiles.
The 2-year-old class had so much fun during her visit. Dr. Jessi even brought treats and gave everyone a brand new toothbrush to take home. We are so thankful she took the time to come and teach us about dental health. Thank you, Dr. Jessi, for visiting our class at First Academy! 🦷🪥

Before Christmas break, the grade enjoyed several fun and meaningful activities. They spent time doing crafts with their parents, which helped strengthen their fine motor skills and gave them a chance to create special memories together. They were also excited to welcome Mrs. Lori O'Neal, who visited the classroom to read a Christmas story, making the season even more special and festive.
Another highlight of the season was celebrating together as a class through holiday-themed activities and discussions. They enjoyed learning about the meaning of Christmas, sharing kindness with others, and participating in fun games that encouraged teamwork and friendship. As the next semester begins, they plan to continue building important skills while learning and reviewing shapes, numbers, letters, and colors. These experiences help support their growth and create a positive learning environment.

The two-year-old class has been busy exploring their centers each day. During center time, the children rotate through activities that help them practice fine motor skills, early problem-solving, and working independently. They especially enjoy hands-on play, where they can build, create, and discover at their own pace.
They have also been learning their colors and shapes and are doing great with recognition. This week, the class has been taking simple assessments to see how much they’ve learned so far. The teachers are proud of how well they’re doing and how excited they are to show what they know.
The two-year-olds are having a great time learning about the letter A and playing with their friends!
