Assessment is a process of information gathering and meetings that leads up to Reality Check 1 to ensure the exhibition can be achieved on budget and on schedule
The Production Supervisor will need details from the Assessment meetings to provide cost and labor estimates for every aspect of the exhibition. The Project Manager needs to be aware of the details in all of the areas listed below in order to monitor team progress and maintain the schedule.
Object:
Conservation assessment based on draft object list
Preliminary review of proposed design materials (conservation guidelines)
Mount making review
Project Database (EMu) created with photographs and measurements underway
Insurance/indemnity/immunity from seizure assessment

Exhibition Design:
Draft exhibition layout
Preliminary case plan (sizes, numbers, & types of cases)
Meeting(s) with production to discuss exhibition and case layouts
Graphic spreadsheet started
Mock ups of casework and lighting, if applicable
Preliminary list of proposed design materials (If new materials, submit for Oddy testing)
Something re replications

Prototype plan
Graphics
Graphic spreadsheet draft completed, with focus on number and material.
Display strategy/Content allocation plan including physical placement, role of text, digital labeling scope, image style and needs (illustrations, photography, etc.), languages
Development:
Draft object list
Label hierarchy (handoff to Graphic Design)
All assessments should be completed no later than two weeks before Reality Check 1 to allow the Production Supervisor time to request quotes from vendors, as needed.
