Under minimal supervision is responsible for Exhibitions projects. Performs highly skilled duties relating to the planning, production and maintenance of exhibits. Becomes an integral part of a project team and provides leadership for all aspects of Production department issues and responsibilities. Works with design, development, conservation, and registration staff, and may sometimes be engaged in direct production activities. Reports to the Exhibitions Production Director.
Responsible for major permanent, temporary and travelling projects, including staffing, contractors, suppliers, and other museum departments.
Creates estimates for Production aspects of projects assigned. May be asked to produce pro forma numbers
Reviews and approves shop drawings, bid package information, material and service quotes, samples, prototypes, finish schedules and related material.
Coordinates the preparation of exhibit costs including time and materials
Schedules work tasks for projects assigned
Assists in training new or promoted staff.
Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.
