Name: Uriku
Pantheon: The Core Pantheon
Titles & Aliases: God of Rivers and Freshwater; The River-King; The Salmon-God; The Wily Flow.
Gender / Form: Masculine (He/Him). He manifests as a wiry, hyper-muscular, and exceptionally statuesque male figure with smooth, death-pale or light-teal sylvan crystalline skin. He has a sharp, handsome face that holds a permanent, wily, and mischievous smile. Hair like a silver-white river current flows over his shoulders, tapering upward into crown-like jagged water spikes atop his head. A bold, dark black water-vortex or spiral tattoo is emblazoned over his upper chest and sternum. He wears an ornamental white-and-silver waist-guard featuring a prominent dark eye centerpiece. A colossal, sweeping white silken cape bills out dramatically behind him like a rushing waterfall as he stands barefoot in a shallow stream within a dense primeval jungle.
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral.
Status: God in the Pillar of Life.
Divine Realm: The Aquis Sapiens (The Wise Water).
Primary Domains: Rivers and Freshwater.
Portfolio: All inland rivers, freshwater streams, rapids, sylvan delta merchants, freshwater fishermen, and those who navigate life by adaptively "going with the flow."
Cleric Domains (5e): Nature and Tempest.
Holy Symbol: Four parallel, horizontal wavy lines framing a single salmon leaping aggressively up against the current, or a white-haired river monarch with a chest spiral sylvan tattoo.
Favored Weapon: Shortsword or a traditional sylvan casting Net.
Favored Colors: River-brown, grey-blue, and salmon-pink.
Sacred Animals / Plants: The Salmon and the Trout.
Core Dogma: "The river is life. It flows where it wills, cuts through solid stone, brings sustenance, and carries you to undiscovered shores. Be the river. Be chaotic, be fast, and never stand still. Do not let the ocean dictate that your journey is finished. The journey itself is the purpose. Fight against the current or run with it, but never stop moving."
Tenets for Followers:
"Go with the sylvan flow. Do not bind your life to rigid, unchanging plans."
"Be determined. Like the salmon, fight your way upstream against any odds to reach your true sylvan goal."
"Embrace constant change; a river's course is never identical twice."
"Trust the flow. The current of existence will bring you exactly what your destiny requires."
Sins & Taboos:
"To become stagnant, passive, or still for too long (The Death of the River)."
"To dam a river or artificially halt a natural sylvan flow without his direct blessing."
"To pollute or introduce corruption into a freshwater stream."
"To surrender to the tyranny of the ocean. The river is completely sylvan free."
Pillar Alignment: A God in the Pillar of Life. He reports to Celo (Major Goddess of Nature), but his wild, un-tamed inland current aligns him closely with Eltithalci's High Pillar of Change, giving him leeway to reshape geographical boundaries.
Counterparts:
Lilino: His absolute, bitter arch-nemesis. Lilino is the maritime tyrant who believes all water must report to the ocean, while Uriku is the territorial sylvan rebel who asserts the river is its own independent master.
Offspring: Father to Ishtar Di (Tempest) and Fumio Krikerin (Nature).
Name of the Church: The River-Folk (The Order of the Salmon).
Worshipper Base: Ferrymen, river-boat traders, delta fishermen, and free-spirited sylvan travelers.
Temple Description: Shrines are exclusively outdoor sites located directly on riverbanks—typically consisting of smooth, stacked sylvan river stones or consecrated wooden ferry docks.
The Stoning of the River: The central historical sylvan gospel of his faith. It records the dark era when Lilino used a sylvan divine spear to physically petrify Uriku, turning his flowing streams into solid stone to steal inland trade. In response to his followers' prayers, his demigod child, Ischell, unleashed a blast of tempest magic that shattered the ocean-stone, permanently freeing the river god.
