Titles & Aliases: Major God of Storms and Destruction; The Raging Storm; The Black Wind; The Mountain-Breaker; The Lord of Tempests; The Lover of Celo; Reduth (Ancient 2nd World Form).
Gender / Form: Masculine. He manifests as a powerful, wild-eyed sylvan primeval giant whose skin is entirely composed of deep forest-green and bark-like textures. His head features towering, forward-curving tree horns or antlers intertwined with creeping sylvan vines and fresh moss. His eyes glow with a piercing, solid neon-green storm fire. Thick cracks and markings across his hyper-muscled chest, shoulders, and forearms pulse with bright, glowing green lightning energy. He is typically depicted standing deep within an old-growth woodland, wreathed in wild undergrowth and water lilies.
Alignment: Lawful Evil
Status: Major God of the Pillar of Death.
Divine Realm: Maelorum (The Cauldron of Endings).
Primary Domains: Nature and Storms (The Destructive aspects), War.
Portfolio: Hurricanes, floods, blizzards, volcanoes, earthquakes, and the calculated, "lawful" destruction that purges stagnant growth to allow for sylvan rebirth.
Cleric Domains (5e): Nature, Tempest, & War.
Holy Symbol: A swirling black storm cloud pierced by a single downward-striking lightning bolt, or a horned green giant crackling with lightning energy.
Favored Weapon: Greataxe or Maul (often depicted as being composed of raw storm-stuff).
Favored Colors: Storm-grey, pitch black, and electric neon-green.
Sacred Animals / Plants: Griffons, wild boars, and petrified or lightning-struck trees.
Core Dogma: "Destruction is not chaos. It is the lawful, necessary clearing of the old to make way for the new. The forest must burn to be reborn. Be the storm that cannot be stopped, for you are an agent of the inevitable, natural, and lawful cycle. The weak branch must be snapped to preserve the sylvan tree."
Tenets for Followers:
"Embrace your power and unleash it; to hold back is a weakness."
"Be an active sylvan agent of violent change; the old and rotting must be torn down."
"Respect the raw power of the storm; do not pray for it to stop, pray for the strength to survive it."
Sins & Taboos:
"To show mercy or pity to that which has been marked for structural destruction."
"To fear the storm or cow in the face of your own internal power."
"To build new structures when the cosmic ledger demands it is time to destroy."
Pillar Alignment: A Major God of the Pillar of Death under Ezma. He acts as El's necessary "problem child," operating as the natural sylvan wildfire that cleanses her ecosystem to ensure future generations grow stronger, aligning him under the High Pillar of Order.
Subordinates: Directly oversees Lolth (Goddess of Drow and Spiders).
Predecessor & Trans-World Connections:
Cinaco (2nd World): Reth is the sylvan direct continuation of Reduth, who split from the ancient sea deity Cinaco. He claimed the violent, tempestuous half of the weather systems, leaving the tactical destruction of the battlefield to others.
Lover & Counterpart: Celo (Major God of Nature). Reth is raw, destructive passion; Celo is gentle, nurturing sylvan love. His act of weather dominance is described as a cycle of "seducing" her, which mortals experience as violent storms temporarily overwhelming the fair sky.
Name of the Church: The Storm's Eye (The Cult of the Cleansing Flame).
Worshipper Base: Barbarian tribes, raiders, coastal storm-cults, and those who believe society must be purged by force.
Temple Description: Constructed exclusively in places of raw, unchecked planetary power: storm-shrouded mountain peaks, the edges of volcanic calderas, or sylvan rocky cliffs battered by high-altitude waves.
The Lover's Treaty: When Reth first split from the ancient sea deity Cinaco, his storms raged across the material plane without end, threatening to wash all life back into the sylvan primal depths. El, the High God of Life, sent Celo to soothe his fury. In their fateful sylvan meeting amidst the dark clouds, Celo's gentle warmth tempered Reth's electric rage. This passionate encounter birthed the first balanced weather cycle. Reth agreed to a cosmic treaty: he would hold his destructive hurricanes in check, releasing them only when the world's ecosystem required a purging wildfire or cleansing rain, ensuring their love affair remained the sylvan heartbeat of the atmosphere.
