Name: Arcus (Are' Kuss)
Pantheon: The Core Pantheon
Titles & Aliases: High God of Magic & Intellect; The Weave-Master; The Great Will-o'-Wisp; The Jaded One; Demak's Shadow / Muise's Mind (Historical 2nd World Links).
Gender / Form: Masculine (He/Him), though his true nature is abstract and entirely composed of raw magical energy.
Natural Form (The Will-o-Wisps): A massive collection of abstract, sentient magical energy manifesting as an entire network of brilliant, floating white and cyan-blue will-o'-wisps. In this state, he drifts through dark, ancient, mystical forests and along ethereal streams, causing the entire landscape to glow with thick, vibrant neon-blue mana bleeding directly from his omnipresent essence.
Assumed Form (The Mortal Avatar): Can take any shape to interact with the mortal plane. He favors a spectacularly chiseled, highly muscular humanoid male form with short, messy blonde hair. In this aspect, he stands bare-chested, showcasing powerful musculature, and wears heavy, segmented golden cuffs on his forearms. A vibrant azure-blue cloth sash is wrapped around his waist and draped over his right shoulder, worn over a pleated white skirt. He is depicted standing amidst a cosmic backdrop of deep space, gazing past spinning planets toward a swirling blue and violet spiral galaxy.
Alignment: True Neutral.
Status: High God of the Pillar of Magic, Primordial God instead of a Cosmic God.
Divine Realm: Lex Magica (The Shifting Weave).
Primary Domains: Magic, Arcane Knowledge, Foresight.
Portfolio: The stability of the Weave, arcane spellcasting equations, the logical path of wizards, the raw spark of sorcerers, runes, glyphs, and objective foresight.
Cleric Domains (5e): Arcana, Knowledge, Light, Survival, Tempest, Trickery, Twilight, & Unity.
Holy Symbol: The constellation "Arcus" mapped out in the night sky, a chiseled blonde warrior framed by a spiral galaxy, or a glowing blue grotto filled with wisps.
Favored Weapon: The Staff (serving as a perfect, grounded conduit for raw magic).
Favored Colors: Deep Azure Blue (the color of thick mana) and Silver (starlight).
Sacred Animals / Plants: The Owl (for its silent, judicious gaze and wisdom).
Core Dogma: "Magic is the logic of the cosmos. It is not a tool to be used for Good or Evil; it is the system that allows 'Good' and 'Evil' to exist. The Weave must remain stable. Pursue knowledge, but do not let passion or morality cloud your logic. The Weave does not care about your heart; it cares about your precision."
Tenets for Followers:
"Thou shalt seek knowledge for its own sake."
"Thou shalt protect the Weave of Magic from those who would tear or destabilize it."
"Thou shalt respect the logic of magic above the passions of the heart."
Sins & Taboos:
"To purposefully destroy magical knowledge (the ultimate sin against the mind)."
"To cast magic recklessly without calculation or strict control."
"To allow raw emotion to bypass logical arcane execution."
Pillar Alignment: As the High God of the Pillar of Magic, he transcribes Arcane Notation into the Weave so that mortal spells do not unravel the Weave when discovered or cast. He frequently interacts with the Pillar of Life to fuel magical biology.
Predecessor & Trans-World Connections:
Muise & Demak (2nd World): Arcus synthesized the infinite foresight, pure knowledge, and energy form of the 2nd World wisp deity Muise with the magical intelligence of Demak, keeping the conceptual domains of Magic, Knowledge, and Foresight, while discarding Demak's destructive aspects (which went to Sucar) and Muise's thread of Fate (which went to Feta, then Aso).
Name of the Church: The Arcane Conclave (The Order of the Will-o'-Wisp).
Worshipper Base: Academic wizards, planar scholars, seers, astromancers, and grand librarians.
Clergy Structure: A strict, logical academic hierarchy. Acolytes are "Initiates," priests are "Magi," and bishops are designated as "Archmagi."
Temple Description: Grand, silent universities, mountain observatories, or pristine towers filled with floating light rings, scroll-racks, and complex stellar diagrams.
Rites & Rituals: The Star-Reading (a nightly calculation of cosmic currents) and The Scribing (the holy act of manually transcribing a spell to preserve its geometric code).
Holy Days: The Night of the Arcus Constellation: The single night when his celestial alignment reaches its zenith and all cast magic is completely pure and un-degraded.
The Mandate Accident: When ordered by the Supreme God to create lineages, Arcus accidentally sired his first two demigods simply by releasing raw energy near mortal fields. Frustrated by this lack of precision, he assumed a perfect humanoid male form to deliberately select a brilliant wizardly match—only to face the ultimate logical error of genuinely falling in love, throwing his jaded existence into chaos.
