Location: Carved directly out of a mountainside, the fortress-like monastery looms high over a treacherous pass just outside the Awado Capital.
Philosophy & Icon: The monks teach the Way of the Kensei. Their icon is the Dragon, a tribute to the ancient wyrm that originally laired in the caverns before the monastery was built.
Lore:
The Draconic Resonance: The ancient dragon may have departed centuries ago, but its ambient magic remains deeply soaked into the stone. The spiritual resonance of the caverns is so overwhelming that during his long, deep meditations, Sanlanter's soul physically absorbed it, granting him his Draconic Bloodline Sorcery and hardening his skin into draconic scales.
The Economy of Sanctuary: Despite their spiritual focus, the terrifying warrior monks require significant gold to maintain their formidable fortifications and feed their members. Because of this, they pragmatically accept "bought" initiates. This exact loophole is what allowed Sanlanter's 13-year-old sister, Selise, to sell herself into a lifetime indenture at the Companion Guild of Awado. She used the funds to purchase Sanlanter's entry, knowing that even King Jehoel's Royal Assassins from Solaris would hesitate to cross the monastery's impenetrable threshold.
The Merciless Masters: Purchased safety does not buy comfort. The Kensei masters are merciless, harboring a specific harshness for "bought boys" like Sanlanter. Believing he needed to truly earn his place, his master beat him frequently and pushed him to the absolute brink of death daily—forcing him to meditate under freezing waterfalls and spar until his hands bled to forge him into a living weapon.
