Inventr.io Lost in Space

Welcome to the Inventr.io Lost in Space project.

If you are beginning this project, you will need the checklist.

STUDENT Checklist Electricity, Circuits, and TinkerCAD for Arduino

Circuits and Electricity Worksheets

You will begin this project by learning about electricity and circuits by completing a paper packet of worksheets.

DO NOT MOVE AHEAD UNTIL THE WORKSHEETS ARE COMPLETE

TinkerCAD Account

Upon successful completion of the introductory packet, you will create a TinkerCAD account using a join code that I give you. You may or may not end up using TinkerCAD to create virtual circuits, but it is a very powerful tool and students should have it available to them.

inventr.io Account

You will also need to create an account in inventr.io at the following link:

https://inventr.io/

IMPORTANT: When you create your account, be sure to do it in the following way:

First name: Use your first name

Last name: Use ONLY the first letter of your last name

Username: first name and last initial; example: I would be: caseyv

Password: Use a lowercase "b" and an uppercase "V" and then your four-digit code twice. Example, if my four digit code was 1407, my password would be bV14071407

*** Make sure you share your login credentials with me*** If you used the correct format, I should already know it, but you need to share it with me just in case. Thank you ;)

Take care of your kit!

Once you have created your account, you will receive your inventr.io kit and you will be ready to begin your lessons. You and your partner are responsible for your kit. There are many small parts that you will need to take care of. Be sure that you do not lose any pieces.

Get Started with Lost in Space

To begin the lessons, log into your inventr.io account.

In the upper. right corner, find the "courses" tab and choose "Adventure Kit" from the dropdown.

A new page should open and you should see "30 Days Lost in Space". Click "Start Course" .

You do not have to watch the "Welcome" video. It does not have any important information, so you may skip it.

When you begin with "Day 1: Incoming Broadcasts from InventrCorp" you will want to skip the video ahead to minute 3:20. The beginning part is about downloading the driver software to the computers which I had to have the tech department do for us. However, at minute 3:20, it will ask you to attach your circuit board to your computer and check that it is running properly. This you will need to do. At that point, you will continue with the remaining lesson and subsequent lessons without skipping ahead.

This is the video you can skip.

On the navigation menu on the left of your screen, you will access the daily lessons (Daily Boradcasts) - Have fun!!
