23-24 December Agendas

Week dates 12/18 - 12/22

This is NOT news:

If you are absent and want credit on your log for that day, you are required to write in what your team did or what a teammate did in class while you were gone. If you leave it blank, you get NO CREDIT for that day.

You are required to turn in logs for the trimester stapled together with the most recent log on the top.

If you do not turn in your log, you will get a ZERO for that log. There are currently many missing logs for last week. If you would like to not get a ZERO, please turn it in TODAY.

PRESENTATIONS

Week dates 12/11 - 12/15

ANNOUNCEMENTS

All teams will receive a presentation rubric  (also linked here) as well as a slide template if they have not already received them.

The SLIDE TEMPLATE is posted as a "Material" in Google Classroom. It is ONLY for Point People who did not yet receive it (since I will be out Monday afternoon 12/11) Your Point Person for your team should make a copy and then share it with the members of the team. If you think your team will primarily be working on iPads, you have permission to convert it to Keynote, but it will need to be converted back to Google Slides when finished.

***************************************************************************

Getting an A or B on your innovation project is not easy. It requires effort. There is a lot to the rubric, so make sure everyone on your team understands the rubric.

****************************************************************************

DO NOT disassemble bots or attachments yet. Teams will be eligible for an additional round if they meet the following criteria:

Moving forward, all of your team effort is going to be put into your innovation project. If your team does not earn a B or higher, there is NO CHANCE of an additional robot round. If your team is prepared and HAS REHEARSED your presentation, you may present to the class early. Only if your score is a B or higher may anyone get robot equipment out to work.

*** I will do my best to support students in this endeavor. That also means that if any students are off task or otherwise not being productive and helpful, there will be severe consequences that could end up also affecting your grade. If I have to attend to students who are off task, that takes my time away from assisting and supporting students who are being productive.***

****************************************************************************

Weekly Goal: Complete innovation project so that our team is prepared to rehears next Monday at the very latest.

Today's Goal: Ensure all team members understand the rubric and understand their role in the project and presentation.

I am proposing this schedule change. Please look at it, think about it so we can all decide together if we want to do this.
