STEP 1
Your first step will be to export your file from TinkerCAD and import it into the slicing software "Cura".
You will need to export it as an .stl file
.
STEP 2
Slice your model in Cura
If you are doing this for the first time, you need to complete the assigned EdPuzzle :
Ultimaker Cura Tutorial and Basics (Beginner's Tutorial)
before you continue.
If you have already completed it, the video from the EdPuzzle is below in case you need to refer to it.
To SLICE a model for the Ultimaker 2+, take the steps described below.
Load the model into Cura by clicking the “Open File” folder icon (top left corner)
Use the Adjustment Tools to position, scale and rotate the object if desired
In the Sidebar, select the nozzle size and material you want to use. Make sure it matches the setup on the printer
Select a profile quality (Draft Print, Fast Print, Normal Quality or High Quality) on the Sidebar
Select “Helper Parts” on the Sidebar. Set the desired strength and enable or disable support* and build plate adhesion
To view the result of the selected profile and support settings, go to the “View mode” and select “Layers”
In the bottom right corner, select “Save to file” or “Save to Removable Drive” to save the print file
*Which supports you choose to use will be very important in determining how your print turns out and how much time you have to spend to remove the supports.
