Poem About Poetry
There is sun reaching into my office
each morning
placing its warm hand across my desk.
I sometimes think this is what poetry is:
all of the hands we are unable to hold.
Poem About Dance
They glide about the stage–
Living stories in motion
Each gesture takes an inhale
The next exhales.
Beauty and grace are enhanced.
But it isn’t only seen–also felt.
Pulsing beneath the spotlight.
Poem About Theatre
To reminisce in our empty spaces
no thought could withhold us;
Both the actor and the audience
reveling in the reenactments of our script
In every scene, memory painted characters
move through the dimmed light
With joys and regrets
and passion.
Poem About Public Speaking
The quietness of the crowd,
your pulse pumping in your ears,
That high, that rush of being in front of a crowd.
It feeds me, charges me, thrills me.
Your reminders running through your head,
reminding you to be loud, be clear.
Poem About Music
Do you hear the drums, the trumpets, the singing?
Rattling in your rib cage, a triumphant fortissimo
Until the horns decrescendo, leaving only quiet notes
To echo into silence and settle upon your heart
Poem About Photography
Eyes that light up and smiles that curve
Images that can tell a story without a single word
Art that speaks
Unseen words that burn
That shows how the person sees the world
They say if you want to see what a person is afraid of losing the most
Look at what they photograph
Poem About Ceramics
Smooth hands spent shaping clay
all throughout the day,
Clay made into plate, bowls, and vases,
Pottery can take on many faces.
Poem About Fashion
Dress, shirt, pants, shoes, all made up in different styles, and hues.
People change, clothes get torn, but both objects are born to become worn out by the world.
Old and sad, patched up and repaired, it’s not bad or ugly, it tells the stories we’ve shared
Trends pass, generations go,
But you and your clothes will always be the new for someone tomorrow.
Poem About Painting
A window to a world where
all who choose to look can see,
that beauty hides beneath brash brush strokes;
paintings capture a moment in an artist's mind,
allowing them to bear their soul on canvas
Poem About Graffiti
The walls whisper stories of rebellion
Each spray paint mark telling a different tale,
A canvas for dreams, for protest, or art,
Graffiti lives, forever leaving its mark
