Assignment #8: Compose a Melody

Guidelines:

• For this assignment, you will use the chord progression on soundtrap and the motifs and phrases you have created.
• You will decide whether a motif should be repeated, repeated but altered, or whether it is time for a new idea.
• Your Melody should be 8 measures long.

Remember:

• The phrases you use for a melody should be different so the listener doesn't get bored.
• There should be some repetition of motifs so the listener can pick up on a pattern.
• It is a balance between giving people what they expect and surprising them.
