Welcome to the course website. Here you will find all that we have covered in class, as well extra videos and texts to help you gain a deep understanding of how music works.

The Course Outline provides a general description of how the course will unfold as well as how you will be graded.

In each class, you will find the assignment link and the slides for the presentation. You will also find links to videos and other texts to help you grasp the skill or concept and to go beyond a basic understanding.

I hope you learn a lot from this course and are inspired to make music as well as explore genres and cultures outside of ones you are familiar with. You should begin with what you know and like but don't stop there. Learn about the tradition that lead to your favorite music and the predecessors that influenced your favorite artists. You will find there is a deep history behind every song and your appreciation for the music will grow as you learn.
