-African proverb-
Although it seems daunting at the time, post school destinations need to be considered before commencing a senior certificate and regularly reviewed throughout. Some university courses have very strict entrance criteria, often requiring an ATAR score, while others require pre requisite subjects, work folios or interviews.
Possible post school destinations include:
- University
- TAFE
- Apprenticeships
- Traineeships
- Part time work
- Full time work
- Gap year / volunteer work / travel
All options are viable and it is important for families to understand that rushing into a degree may not always be the best option. Many careers also require life experience, community engagement or the development of a folio of prior work experience. It is worth browsing the sites provided on this page to learn more about some of the industry requirements you might encounter as your pathway becomes clearer.
