In Year 9 Surrealism, students learn the fundamentals of graffiti art, creating stencils using graffiti lettering and imagery. Students will use spray cans or rollers to add colour and techniques when they stencil their artworks. The stencils will be a tag name and a portrait.
Students use their acquired knowledge to work on real skateboard decks. They create their own design and apply them to the decks. The stencils created in the first Unit feature somewhere on the skateboard. Students can either spray paint or hand paint their designs or use a combination of both.
