Year 10 Design & Technology - Wood

Year 10 Design and Technology builds on the student’s previous experiences in Design, Materials and Technology in early secondary school. There is a strong emphasis on design, investigating real world needs, planning and construction. The changing role of technology in society is studied from both a local and global perspective, however the focus is design and construction. Various drawing systems are used including orthogonal, perspective and ‘Sketch Up’.

The students use the Design Brief to investigate and generate a design solution for a public space and complete three projects of their own design in wood including a free-standing piece of furniture.
