Since the news that Altona College was expanding, our curriculum has continued to expand at a rapid pace. We are committed to providing everything our students need to thrive in an ever changing world. Having said that, we can't offer every subject, every year. We think we have the essentials covered and will continue to expand, but we now have an exciting partnership to offer our community which means no one has to miss out on a study they are passionate about. Enter the Virtual School!
Altona College has committed to staffing (if required) a specialist class full of virtual school enrolments. That means that every student in the class can study a high quality online course, with the added support of a face to face mentor and a structured classroom.
What do I need to know?
1. Students can only enrol in a maximum of one Virtual School subject as part of their Altona College VCE.
2. A fee of $80.00 per unit/semester ($160.00 for a full year VCE study).
3. Not all subjects available in the Virtual School will be available at Altona College (we will try to cover most of them), see careers staff for details.
4. Altona College can not accept responsibility for students who fail to meet Virtual School curriculum and learning requirements. We will monitor them closely, however students who select this option remain accountable for their own work ethic and success.
