Certificate II in Apparel, Fashion and Textiles

VCE VET Fashion is designed to give high school students an introductory overview of fashion design, introducing students to all facets of the design and production process, whilst simulating a work environment. It provides students with the design and development skills and knowledge to prepare them for work in the fashion industry. We offer small class sizes of up to 12 students. This is a great course to foster creative and technical skills. Over the 2 years’ students will complete a nationally recognised Certificate II in Applied Fashion Design and Technology and a partial completion of Certificate III qualification.

In class you will learn and develop skills in fashion illustration, designing and interpreting sketches, working with patterns, sewing and applying quality measures.

This is a practical course that allows students to develop their creativity and produce high quality garments.

Pathways / Career Opportunities:

This course will lead to higher level studies at certificate III and IV level. Credit transfers may be available into Certificate III in Applied Fashion Design and Technology and Certificate IV in Applied Fashion Design and Technology.

Career paths in the textiles, clothing, and footwear sectors may include employment in the clothing manufacturing industry as garment sample hands, machinists, garment cutters and makers, finishing operators, and quality assurance officers.
