Year 10 Chemistry

Year 10 Chemistry is a semester long elective that provides students with foundational skills required for successful transition into VCE Unit 1-4 Chemistry. If you are a detailed orientated person skills in math and science, chemistry may be for you! 

Student learning focused on the groups of the Periodic table and trends in their properties. Students explored the type of interactions between atoms that form molecules and compounds. They were introduced to the different types of chemical reactions and explored these experimentally. Students completed a poster to present a self-designed Practical Investigation that assessed their ability to use the scientific method to answer a research question.
