There are no prerequisites for this course. A very practically orientated subject; particularly suited to those with a sound understanding of and interest in computing, graphics, animation, cinematography and/or digital creative works. Existing skills in these areas will be an advantage.
This course does not conflict with any other course offered at WWHS.
Multimedia students study design and the utilisation of technical skills through the production of practical projects and associated design folios.
Multimedia Technology can lead to careers such as animation, video production, photography, live television, acting, website design or graphic designer.
Industrial Technology Stage 6 consists of project work and an Industry Study that develop a broad range of skills and knowledge related to the Industry area chosen (Multimedia), and an introduction to industrial processes and practices in the multimedia industry.
In the Preliminary year, practical class work and projects are aimed at developing a range of skills in the creation of multimedia content such as video, audio, animation, graphics, sound, hypermedia and text-based works predominantly utilising the Adobe Creative Suite industry level software packages.
Students develop a Major Project related to the chosen option in the HSC year.
Multimedia links well with courses, such as Entertainment, Visual Arts, Drama and Information Technology.
Assessment in the Preliminary course is based on individual and group design projects, an industry study and a theory based exam.
In the HSC year, assessment is spread between school-based assessment, an industry study, the Major Design Project, folio and a final HSC examination
Students will also undertake an excursion in both Year 11 and Year 12 to complete a case study on a particular business within the Multimedia Industry.

In the past students have been able to go to 'The Project', Channel 10 Studios, Animal Logic and ABC Studios, as well as various professionals as guest speakers from around Australia.
