The Business Services course provides students with practical insights into the operations of modern workplaces. It emphasises the development of administrative, technological, and communication skills essential for various business environments. Through this course, students gain nationally recognised qualifications that can lead directly to employment or further study in the business sector.
There is no cost for the HSC course or Certificate III in Business.

You must complete 240 indicative hours of coursework and a minimum of 70 hours work placement. Not meeting these requirements will incur an `N` determined as required by NESA.
The Business Services Curriculum Framework is based on the BSB Business Services Training Package. Students work towards achieving the Certificate III in Business (BSB30120).

In this course, you will work to develop the skills and knowledge described in each unit of competency. To be assessed as competent you must demonstrate your ability to satisfactorily complete the tasks required in the assessments. There are no marks awarded in competency-based assessments. Students are assessed as either ‘competent’ or ‘not yet competent’.
The High School Certificate Examination for Business Services (240 indicative hours) will involve a written examination consisting of multiple-choice items, short answers and extended response items.
Students completing the Business Services (240 indicative hours) course will be eligible to sit the Business Services HSC Examination and count the results from the examination towards their ATAR. The examination is independent of the competency-based assessment undertaken during the course and has no impact on the eligibility of a student to receive a vocational qualification in Certificate III in Business.
To withdraw from the HSC Examination students and parents must complete the required documentation.
Business Services complements subjects like Business Studies, Legal Studies, and Information Processes and Technology. It provides a foundation for careers in:

Office administration
Students may pursue further education through TAFE or university courses in business, management, or related fields. The Certificate III in Business also opens pathways to traineeships and employment opportunities in various industries.
