The student may achieve a Certificate I in Engineering (MEM10119) & Statement of Attainment towards Certificate II in Engineering Pathways You can achieve a Certificate I in Engineering (MEM20422) and credit towards trade qualifications in welding and associated trades
This course cannot count towards your ATAR
In this course, you can gain skills in welding, oxyacetylene cutting and welding, fabrication, designing and managing projects and dealing with clients, workers and professionals. Manufacturing and Engineering links well with other courses offered at WWHS such as ‘Design and Technology’ and ‘Construction Pathways’.
The course is based on practical activities such as welding, fabrication, mechanics, and project management. Manufacturing and Engineering has a course fee that covers the cost of consumables the student uses.

Mandatory course requirements
You must complete 240 indicative hours of coursework and a minimum of 35 hours of work placement. Not meeting these requirements will incur an `N` determined as required by NESA.
Uniform: Students are required to wear fully enclosed leather shoes for the practical components
Competency-Based Assessment
In this course you will work to develop the skills and knowledge described in each unit of competency. To be assessed as competent you must demonstrate your ability to satisfactorily complete the tasks required in the assessments.
Appeals and Complaints
You may lodge a complaint or an appeal about a decision (including assessment decisions) by following the Appeals and Complaints Guidelines.
External Assessment
There is no external assessment (eg. HSC examination) for this course.
A school-based traineeship is not available in this course.
