This course may count towards your ATAR as well as allow you to achieve a Statement of Attainment towards or a Certificate III in Live Production and Technical Services
In this course, students will have the opportunity to gain an entry-level qualification in the entertainment industry. They will be involved in internal productions such as our school musical or dance night and assist in the running of internal school events, such as assemblies and presentations. Students will experience general skills related to working in the entertainment industry.
Students will study units of competency from the entertainment industry, including areas such as stage lighting, sound engineering, stage management and industry knowledge.

Mandatory Course Requirements:
Students must complete 240 indicative hours of coursework and a minimum of 70 hours of work placement. Not meeting these requirements will incur an `N` determined as required by NESA
Uniform: Students are required to wear fully enclosed leather shoes for the practical components.
White Card (general construction induction card) – training costs: $110 approximately.
In this course, you will work to develop the skills and knowledge described in each unit of competency. To be assessed as competent you must demonstrate your ability to satisfactorily complete the tasks required in the assessments.
Appeals and Complaints
You may lodge a complaint or an appeal about a decision (including assessment decisions) by following the Appeals and Complaints Guidelines
There are no marks awarded in competency-based assessments. Students are assessed as either ‘competent’ or ‘not yet competent’. When a student achieves a unit of competency, the assessor signs it off in a competency record book.
The Higher School Certificate examination for Entertainment is only available after completion of 240 indicative hours and will involve a written examination consisting of multiple-choice, short answers and extended response items. The examination is independent of the competency-based assessment undertaken during the course and has no impact on your eligibility to receive a vocational qualification.
· To withdraw from the HSC Examination students and parents must complete the required documentation.
Students can only undertake the Entertainment Industry (120 indicative hours) course or the Entertainment Industry (240 indicative hours) course.
