A Post Implementation review is conducted after completing the project. Its activities aim to evaluate whether project objectives were met, how effectively the project was run. Post implementation review is making sure what you have accomplish with your product has set out what you’ve actually wanted to achieve. Completing an objective wasn’t to simply deliver a process but to deliver the process that addresses the business you wish to meet which will end up with real success.
Client Sign off / approval is also undertaken within this post production stage. This is important in a project because the project is mainly designed for the clients, so the design and specifications should be done according to their preference.
When received an PIR it is important you answer three key questions:
Did the project fully solve the problem that it was designed to address?
Can we take things further and deliver even bigger benefits?
What lessons did we learn that we can apply to future projects?
These questions will further allow you to measure how much success the project has achieved.
