The Age Discrimination Act 2004 protects people from age discrimination while in employment, the supply of goods and services, education and the administration of Commonwealth laws and programs.
The Gender Discrimination Act (1985) is the prohibition of the unlawful action of acting unfairly and unjustly against people based on their identified or biological gender.
The Fair Work Act (2009) is the strict legislation of the conditions that employers must supply to their employees to ensure that all staff given adequate pay and safety throughout the duration of their job.
The conditions that need to be met include:
Adequate and safe environment to work (including ergonomic seating and equipment)
Appropriate amount of time allocated to each employee to a healthy balance of work and rest
Sex discrimination is the unlawful action to discriminate against a person purely because of their sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status or intersex status.
