  1. Sit outside if possible, otherwise sit somewhere near a window in your home.

  2. Set a timer for 10 minutes, or have an adult set one for you.

  3. Use the images from the slides to help you identify birds that you see and record a tally mark each time you see one of the bird species on the table.

  4. If you see a bird that might not be on the table, record it down as 'other'

  • Write one thing that you notice from the data?

  • What are 2 things that you wonder about your data?

  • Which bird did you see most often in your area?

  • Why do you think you saw that bird the most?
