This was supposed to be the Programme in Badajoz
Everything was ready. The dates of the mobility were supposed to be on 21 – 28 March 2020. But then due to the sanitary situation caused by COVID19 everything had to be postponed. The country was about to be confined for an undetermined period of time. The period lasted more than three months. Schools turned to remote learning and consequently the mobility had to be cancelled

Transport
Local buses have stops near the hotel and the school. You need to walk around 500 metres to or from the nearest stop. The nearest bus stop to the hotel is in Tubasa, Plaza de la Libertad.
You can buy tickets on the bus from the bus driver. You can also buy a prepaid card charged with five euros for cheaper rides at the office in the city centre Tubasa, Plaza de la Libertad.
There is an App Paradas Badajoz and a website where you can find out where to go and what time the bus will arrive.
School Timetable
While in the school we need to follow the school timetable as the bell rings.
We start school at 8:15. There are 6 lessons of 55 minutes. There is a 15-minute break after every two lessons (at 10:05 -- 10:20 and at 12:10 -- 12:25)
School corridors will be full of secondary students while they change classrooms. Don’t worry if you get lost. Ask any student to help you.
Please be patient with us. We may need to bring chairs or material for the workshops.
We want to have everything ready for you but there may sometimes be something unexpected.
High school students are allowed to go out of the school during the breaks. They usually go to a café up the street, but it is usually busy during breaks. As there are many people and there is little time, don’t expect to have enough time to eat something. In longer free periods students go to a fast food restaurant across the road. Erasmus students will also be able to stay in the school library on the ground floor during the breaks.
The school day ends at 14:15. Pupils don't have a lunch break. They have lunch at home at 14:45 or later when they get home. We don’t have afternoon lessons.
Meal times
Meal time in Spain may seem awkward to you. Lunch is around 2:30 and dinner is around 21:00 or later.
As we want you to feel the real experience we will have meals at these times. When in Spain, do as the Spaniards do. You will undergo an immersion into our culture and way of life. But, sorry there will be no time for “siesta”.
Phones.
Always take your phone with you. It will help you find places and they will be used for some of the activities. It is highly recommended to download the programme and practical information in case you need it.
Transport:
Wear comfortable footwear. Our school is not in the city centre. A walk from the hotel can take you around 30 minutes. On Monday we will walk to the school after our lunch in the city centre.
The rest of the days we will go to school by bus. Bus services are not expensive but they run every 20 minutes and they may be crowded in peak times, so be patient and don’t miss the one in the morning.
Safety
Badajoz is a safe city. However never leave your belongings unattended. In case of any problem call 112 (European emergency number ) or 091 (National police)
We are travelling to Portugal on Tuesday. There is no border control but don’t forget to bring your ID card with you.
Health care:
In case of students with allergies take into account that at the time of the mobility we will be in a high season of pollen allergies.
If your skin is fair, bring sunscreen for your face.
Sunglasses are also recommended if your eyes are sensitive to bright light.
Medical services in Spain are trustworthy and free for everyone with the European health card, so bring it with you.
Tap water is safe to drink. If you prefer bottled water, it is cheap and easy to find.
Clothes
Weather is usually changeable in March. You won’t need to wear warm clothes but bring a sweater and a light coat with you. It may be warm and sunny during the day but the temperature may fall at night and in the morning.
Footwear should be comfortable as we need to walk a lot.
