This page is for teachers looking for help in constructing their website . If you would like your website to have a Denair theme look and feel , I have background graphics for the headers & sub-headers, as well as a variety of coyote pics and site specific logos, etc.. They can be accessed via the "Website Images" folder. If for some reason, this link doesn't work for you, please email me to see if we can fix the problem. You are welcome to personalize your pages with your own images, photos, videos, presentations, etc.. Your website should enhance what you do as a teacher, and maximize the availability of your instructional materials and information for your students & their parents. Have fun building!

The New Google Sites is an easy to use web builder that does a lot of the thinking for you. If you can create word processing documents, you can build a website using this program! There's no need to do a lot of extra work. Just take the files and presentations you've already created for your students, place them in Google Drive, and add a link to the files or folders. Post the due date/s and you're golden!

GETTING STARTED: This video will show you how to locate the New Google Sites, start a home page, add background graphics, and duplicate pages to create your class pages.
HOME PAGE: Here you will learn how to Modify the title, add your school logo and link it to your school site's home page, and add your email address, room & telephone numbers.
ADDING CONTENT: Add clipart, photos, Google Docs, Folders, etc.
ABOUT VIDEOS - YOUTUBE vs GOOGLE DRIVE: Learn the differences and nuances of each to make the best choice for your page, or if you should add both. Learn why having thumbnails or text to link to Google Drive videos works better than embedding.
NAVIGATION BAR & SUB PAGES: Rearrange the order of pages in the navigation bar, see the difference between duplicating pages and creating new ones, and learn how to create sub pages.
SHARING & PERMISSIONS: Permission settings to folders and files are done within Google Drive. Learn about the different settings and which would be best for particular situations.
PUBLISHING YOUR PAGE: You may publish your page at any time, you don't need to wait until you are 100% done. Just make sure it's at a point that it's presentable. Continue to add to, and improve your site/pages as the year/s progress.
PHOTO ALBUMS/SLIDE PRESENTATIONS: No need for a video here. If you would like to include a photo album just add your photos/content to a folder in Google Drive, and then link to that folder. If you would like to see what some examples of photo albums being used for an art gallery can look like click on the link.
