WELCOME to ART CLASS

AFTER READING THIS PAGE, MAKE SURE TO FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THE SYLLABUS

Whether it is the beginning of the year, or you are joining an Art class in the middle of the year, there is certain information you will need to know & things you'll need to do to get set up.  So, read the information below, and click on any links (underlined words or phrases) to short videos so that you know exactly what it is that you are supposed to do.

A seating chart will be created by Mr. Berdino shortly after the beginning of the school year. You will be assigned a seat that can be changed as requested by Mr. Berdino.  You are to be in your seat when the bell rings so that you don't get marked absent or tardy. This is how attendence will be taken every day.

The table you sit at is assigned a number.  This number matches a tray that you will keep your art supplies and materials in.  This tray is in the large purple cabinet next to the exit door.  Look for the period and tray number that matches your table.  Look at the example in this section.  If you were in 6th period and sat at table 3, you would keep your supplies and materials in the tray with the red arrow.

You can keep your portfolios (if you have one), drawings, and paintings on a shelf of the black metal drying racks to the left of the exit door. Look for the period of art you are in and place yours in that section.

You are obviously on my website if you are reading this.  Go to the homepage of the art that you are in, bookmark it, then return to this page.  To get to your Art Class Homepage click on the name of your Art Class in the navigation bar (black bar at the top of the page).  Click on the star to the right of the url to bookmark it.  This webpage will link to instructions for projects, their due dates, and Tests and Exercises dates.

SHARED FOLDER:  I should have shared a folder with you in Google Drive that looks like this…

Last name, First Name: Art you are in.

For example, if your name was Mike Smith and you were in Art 1, it would look like the example shown in this section.

If you don't see this folder then let me know so I can see if I have created it.  Once you have located the folder under "Shared with me" in Google Drive, you will then need to create a shortcut to and add it to your drive so that you have easy access to it.  This folder is where you will keep source images (pictures you look at to create your artwork), and progress photos or photos of finished work if you are asked or required to do so. If we ever take notes in class, you will be expected to add to a running google doc stored in this folder.
