Submitting Projects for Your Portfolio/s: This page will explain how to digitally record and submit your projects to both Mr. Stav via Google Classroom so that he can grade your projects and enter your grades into PowerSchool and resize the images so that you can upload them to AP Central. Make sure to review the Artistic Integrity Agreement and the Art and Design AP Exam Terms and Conditions. Students must agree to both policies before submitting their portfolios through the web application.

For written instructions on AP Central image specifications click here.

Official AP Website: This site will tell you anything you wish to know about your AP class/es, including fees, test dates, course descriptions, expectations, etc. If you're thinking about signing up for an AP class/es, you should educate yourself as much as possible to know what is expected of you. This site, as well as discussing options with your school counselor, AP teacher, and parents should help you make a well informed decision.

Parts of the Studio Art Portfolio must be submitted digitally. Preview the following websites for important information on how to set up your account, and specifications on how to prepare your artwork for digital submission:

AP Art Rubrics

STUDENT EXAMPLES: Looking at portfolio examples/samples from other students whose work has been scored is strongly recommended so that you can get a better idea of what readers (judges) are looking for.

2020 "Sustained Investigation" Examples: Google Drive Online

2020 "Selected Works" Examples: Google Drive Online

More Student Examples: Clicking on the "Sections-Scores 2-6" link will take you to a page that gives you options for looking at various ranges of scores (2-6). Check out portfolios with high scores, and compare them to portfolios with low scores. Also look at the "Rationale for Score" in order to see why the judges gave the score for that portfolio.

Digital Submission Account Setup/Login: To set up and review your account, you will need the teacher key from your AP Art teacher. Once you receive this key, write it down and keep it in a safe place that you can access when you need it.

Course & Exam Description: This CED is a lengthy, but thorough document that will tell you almost everything you need to know in order to develop your ideas and create artwork for a quality AP Art portfolio. I recommend familiarizing yourself with the entire document, but if you're strapped for time, check the table of contents, and focus on the areas that are of the greatest concern to you.

Jim Carrey's " I Needed Color": This Vimeo & YouTube Video may help you in developing your Sustained Investigation. I personally think it is brilliant in how Jim Carrey lets go of all inhibition and provides the viewer with a window into his soul in an artful manner that tells his story. Obviously your story will be different, and you SI may be less personal. Take from it what you will.
