Whether it is the beginning of the year, or you are joining Graphic Design in the middle of the year, you're going to need to get set up. So, follow the written instructions below one at a time, and click on the links (underlined words or phrases, or thumbnails of videos with the play arrow). These link to the short videos that will show you exactly what it is that you are supposed to do.

We will create folder in Google Drive that has your "Last name, First Name: Graphic Design". For example, if your name was Mike Smith, it should look like the example shown here.

Once you have created the folder you will need to share it with me so that we both have access to your ongoing work and projects. The video in this section uses an Art 1 example, but the process is essentially the same & it will show you how this is done. You need to place all the work you do in this class in this folder so that I have access to it. Not doing so will affect my ability to check on your progress and will affect your E-Grade. This is where you will store your work until the final versions are submitted to google classroom at the end of each assignment.

When you open a psd file, and make changes to it, life is simple. All you need to do is choose File > Save (Google Drive) to preserve the changes you made. If your'e not able to get your documents to save in Photopea as described above, things will still work, but Photopea will create a new separate project with a different name each time you save it, and this can overload your Google Drive with a ton of projects. Over time this could get very confusing. If this is happening then watch the video in this section as a temporary way to save your files until we get things resolved.

All students are expected to produce completed quality projects. There is a link to a rubric for each project that shows what the finished project should look like as well as display the proper stacking order and labeling of layers in the layers palette. Grades are based heavily on the overall visual quality of the project/s, how well they adhere to the written and video instructions, and how closely the layers palette resembles that of the rubric's.

When you are finished with your project, make sure it is named according to whatever the project was as described on the web page and then submit it to Google Classroom for a grade. If you're not sure how to do this, this video will show you how. Also make sure to see that it gets returned to you, and to also check Aeries to see that your grade has been entered there. PowerSchool is where your grade really counts!!!

At the end of the period when Mr. Berdino tells you to "Shut down", make sure to log out of your student Google account, shut the computers off, and remain in your seats until the bell rings. Push your chair back under your desk area before leaving.
