Note: Art 1 students may be expected to take Cornell or Focused notes on demonstration days. These notes count as one E-Grade. Students that are absent on demonstration days can either watch the instructional videos at home or at school and take notes individually, or copy them from a classmate upon their return.
You must be in your seat, listening, working, and being respectful in speech, and action at all times. If you have concerns or questions quietly raiuse your hand and wait to be called on. Feel free to send emails or talk after class if you have more sensitive concerns!
Do not ever tamper with other student work or property.
Be active in class. Listen to instructions. Respect what is asked of you and complete your work to the best of your abilities. Being out of your seat during class for no reason will result in detention.
It is a privilege to have access to high quality art supplies. However, they are messy and will need to be cleaned up a few minutes before class ends. You will be given a few minutes to clean every day. DO NOT clean up early. Wasted class time, getting out of your seat and hovering by the door, or getting on your phone while class is still running will result in detention.
6) Phones are NOT allowed.
According to the districtwide rules, phones and headphones are deemed "banned" in the classroom. They may not be on the desk, you may not listen to music, you may not quickly answer a text. Your phone should not be seen in class ever. The only exception is that there may be very rare times when they will be used to take photos for projects, but phones must be in backpacks at all other times. If a phone is seen in class, it will be immediately confiscated, sent to the office, and detention will be issued.
This also includes EARBUDS! Earbuds must be put away unless expressed permission is given to use them.
Using AI to answer written prompts, turning in other students work, or plagiarizing is not allowed. Any written work is checked for AI content. If you are caught plagiarizing, your work will receive a 0, and you will receive an office referral for academic dishonesty.
If you require classroom accommodations, do not hesitate to talk to me personally or send me an email. Accommodating medical issues of any kind, requirement of a classroom aide, hearing, visual, audio, or translation aides are available as needed. Any student who walks in my door is valuable, and I care about your success in my class. Talk to me about any help you may need, and we can try to make it happen!
All IEP's, 504's, and behavior plans will be reviewed discretely and implemented into the classroom to benefit your learning.
