You are graded in two different areas on your plaster sculpture. The first was the sculpture itself, and the second is how well you paint it. The sculpting part of the grade is worth 200 points, and the painting of your sculpture is worth 100 points. As with all projects you are graded on the quality and complexity of your work, so keep that in mind when choosing a paint scheme for your project.
Painting your sculpture is the easy part of the project. Since you are in art 2, you have had experience painting at this school in Art 1, or should have had some experience painting at another school. Simply use the school’s paintbrushes and tempera paints to color your figure. As on all projects, complexity and quality will be the two main factors when considering a grade. Attention to detail is definitely a plus. If you wish to paint your sculpture with special colors that we don’t have here at school, then you will need to purchase them on your own. Discuss what types of paint would work best, and where to buy them with your teacher. When you are finished painting your sculpture, make sure to remember to turn it in for a grade.
