MOLDOVAN TOURISM: ADDRESSING JOB CREATION AND THE REBUILDING OF MOLDOVA
Lance Leigh completed his Global Scholar Capstone project in the spring of 2022 during his junior year. His interest in the topic was inspired while indulging in Soviet history over quarantine, and learning about the extreme poverty and governmental issues many people face in the region, as well as the struggling tourism rates much of eastern Europe faces. Through his research he was able to determine many root factors of the tourism issues in Moldova, as well as determine the progress made by the country in recent years. Working with individuals based both in Moldova and the United States, Lance created a brochure to be distributed on travel agency websites in the Midwest. The brochures are designed to promote Moldova's affordability, and make it a true competitor to western Europe.
