MISSING AND MURDERED INDIGENOUS WOMEN IN THE US AND CANADA

Kelsie Lopriore was inspired to make an impact about the topic of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women in her Junior Year and completed her project her senior year. As an art major, Kelsie was interested in learning how imagery and art can impact a topic by making it visible to those around her. Actively involved in the art community at Huntley High School, and majoring in art in college, Kelsie worked with various individuals in the art community to learn about art activism and to learn how to best make an impact. She has created art pieces about the struggles of MMIW and wants to continue to make an impact in the future by adding to her collection to hopefully make a total of 3 (or more) art pieces about this subject continuing her interest and activism in the future.
