As the Class of 2024 seniors enter the last nine weeks of high school, they are experiencing a mix of emotions. For many, it is a bittersweet moment as they prepare to say goodbye to the place that has been their home for the past four years. The excitement of graduation and moving on to new adventures is tempered by the sadness of leaving behind friends, teachers, and memories that have shaped them into the individuals they are today. These final weeks are filled with a whirlwind of activities - senior prom, graduation rehearsals, college decisions, and final exams. The sense of nostalgia is palpable as they walk through the halls one last time, reflecting on all the ups and downs they have experienced during their time in high school. For some seniors, this period marks the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. They are filled with hope and anticipation for what lies ahead but also trepidation about leaving behind what is familiar and comfortable. In these last nine weeks, the Class of 2024 seniors will cherish every moment spent with their classmates, soaking in every experience and making lasting memories that will stay with them long after they toss their caps in the air on graduation day. It is a time to celebrate achievements, reflect on growth, and look forward to what the future holds. As they navigate these final weeks together, the Class of 2024 seniors will lean on each other for support and encouragement. They will share laughs and tears as they reminisce about shared experiences and look ahead to bright futures. And when it comes time to say goodbye, they will do so with gratitude for all that high school has given them and excitement for all that lies ahead.

On January 29th 2024, I interviewed Jason Gonzalez. To get to know Jason I asked some specific questions. The first question I asked was, what are his hobbies outside of school, he replied with “Outside of school I work at Subway but when I’m not working I’m hanging out with my girlfriend or family. I also play video games quite often”. I also asked Jason how his past years at DHS have been and he said “My past years at DHS flew by. It went way quicker than I expected but in a fun way, I have enjoyed my years at DHS”. Jason is a very kind person, always including everyone and having good communication with others. High school can be a difficult journey for anyone, so most people have that one person that helped them grow and get through the years. So I asked Jason who his biggest influence was and who helped him through highschool, he replied with “My teachers helped out especially Ms. Hahn, she was always someone I could talk to”. Having a plan after senior years is always a smart thing to do so you can continue your journey and this is Jason’s plan, “After high school I plan on taking a gap year to make some money for a nice car, then I do plan on getting a trade either with aero plane mechanics or one for construction”. Shoutout to Jason Gonzalez a graduate of DHS 2024!
