A Word from Admin
We asked our wonderful administration what being part of the Admin Team at DHS means to them.
Beth Fontaine
Being a Spartan administrator means being part of a team that will always put the needs of students first. I believe that building relationships is critical to creating a productive work environment. By positively engaging with students, teachers, parents and staeholders, we can build a school community that is supportive and compassionate.

- We should remind ourselves of what it means to be a Spartan and what we are thankful for during the upcoming holidays. Although the pandemic has hindered our ability to participate in numerous activities this year, we have a variety of new clubs being created and currently running this semester. These last few months have been hectic for staff, students, and teachers as we all learn to adapt to school amid the pandemic. However, during this upcoming break, we encourage everyone to remember the positive factors in their lives while keeping a positive mindset and safe social distancing practices. Club Spotlight:
French Club (Londagin): 2nd half of FLEX
We are starting French Club up again for this school year! We are still deciding on a weekday to have our meetings. You can join our Google Classroom with the code feid6dr.
Everyone is welcome to join: you don’t have to speak any French starting out. We’ll teach you the basics, such as the alphabet, colors, numbers, and French greetings and expressions.
We are a club which celebrates the French and francophone language and cultures. (This can sometimes include food!) We are also seeking new people to fill officer positions, if you are interested.
Student Spotlight:
We know with Covid-19 and hybrid schedules it can be hard to meet new friends around campus. So we had our reporters go around school and ask students questions to get to know them. Here is what they said:
Annie Hernandez from 9th grade said her friends would describe her as “Dramatic, loud, and an extremely good listener”.
Raphael Casanova from 10th grade said in his free time he likes to “read books… play video games, and spend time with the family”.
Zachary Vince from 9th grade said his friends would describe him as “hardworking, compassionate, and competitive”.
Lastly, Ayline Diaz from 9th grade said her favorite thing about high school is “Just being with my friends”.
Next time you see a new face around campus say hi and you never know, you might make a new friend!
- SPORTS:
Showing a tremendous amount of our Spartan Spirit and also leading a victorious win for our Ladies Varsity Volleyball Team, we present to you the Spartanettes:
The game against Oasis Christian Academy was a night to remember for our Seniors (Ivey Allen #2, Crystal Walker #3, Dalilah Kelly #7, Aleyla Pride #11, Amber Ramirez #13). The girls walked into the game feeling confident, excited to play, and did an amazing job working as a Spartan Team. Each member participated in wearing pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and displaying great team support, great passes and let’s not forget those powerful hits. We are honored to have such a strong group of ladies. They hope to inspire more to join them as they continue to lead us to high achievements in the future.
Football has shown amazing effort during the season. With Covid taking away two weeks of their practice time they have kept a positive attitude. With the losses they have received, the boys are still giving it their best:
On October 16, 2020, our boys played against Forte Meade, the football players had a rough night between players with pre-existing injuries not being able to compete and Fort Meade’s stadium lights shutting off twice during the game. This resulted in the boys not being able to finish the game however they played amazing in the time that they had on the field.
The players are sad to see the season go with our seniors leaving. Our seniors include: Jermaine Anglin, Cameron Arnold, Anthony Ballard,Glen Berto, Carmelo Chambers, Anderson Exantus, Zayquan Frazil, Adrian Hernandez,L.J Livingston, Kenneth Stevens, Gean Rivera,
