Black History Month By: Vivian Frabotta
The story of "Black History Month" began in 1915. It has continued to this day and, as of 1976, has February as its designated month.
The talk of designated days for the negro community started in 1926 with Carter G. Woodson. He chose February to contain "Negro History Week" because it contained the birthdays/celebrated days of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass, which later expanded to "Black History Month". Why is "Black History Month" a thing? It is to honor the "contributions of African Americans to U.S. history" (History.com "Black History Facts").

Technology: Smart Watches Becoming More Medical. By: Christopher Dennie
Smartwatches have become more advanced and gained newer uses as the years go by. Most people may have only got smartwatches to tell time, but recently smartwatches have gained the abilities such as,” monitoring your heart rate, tracking your location or making calls to your friends without any help from a smartphone whatsoever.”(source 2). Most people wear their smartwatches every day for hours; that same watch can act as a portable EKG machine and track your heart. Reportedly Apple is working on ways for future apple watches to take readings for blood sugars, body temperatures, and blood pressure. These watches are able to do things that may have required a doctors visit such as,” track metrics, such as blood oxygen saturation and body fat estimates.``(source 1). The only concerns that have appeared are the reliability of these devices. People have become worried about how 100% of these devices are. Apple and Fitbit are working towards the accuracy of their smartwatches as the days go.
