Topic 1: The meaning of the necessary 10 mental skills

Life skills refer to the characteristics or abilities in society and are the skills that help people psychologically to get through situations that happen in daily life with efficiency and to adapt to future challenges.















Content of 10 life thinking skills

life thinking skills are different by culture and location but life skills that the World Health Organization requires for everyone and it’s the key for life living.

1. Decision making skill

Is ability to making decision for all things in life with systematic ex. like someone makes about their health behavior or life safety by estimate choices and result from decision that they will make to be well matched willing effect to physical and mental health.

2. Problem solving skill

Is ability to manage problem that occur in living everyday life with systematic preventing from stress in body and mind to go beyond and can’t be control

3. Creative thinking skill

Is an ability to think support the decision and solving problem by being creative. To find choices that lead to results and the ability to use past experiences to adapt appropriately in everyday life.

4. Critical thinking skill

Is an ability to analyze information and estimate problems or situations around yourself affecting your everyday life.

5. Effective communication skill

Is the ability to use words or gestures to describe and express feelings properly to suit the culture and circumstance as well as showing opinion, need, praise, bargain, complain, reject.

6. Interpersonal relationship skill

Is the ability to build a good relationship with another person and make it last a long time.

7. Self awareness skill

Is an ability to find oneself and understand oneself, e.g. know ones strength and weakness, know what one wants and not, be aware of oneself when in stress or meeting difficult situations. It’s the basis for all other skills like communication skill, relationship skill, decision skill, empathy skill.

8. Empathy skill

Is the ability to understand similarity or difference between person by capability, gender, age, education, religion, belief, color, job etc. which can help to accept people who are different from oneself. It will make people help others who are weaker or who are in trouble like drug addicts, or person with HIV.

9. Coping with emotion skill

It is the ability to sense your own emotion and those of others, to understand how emotions affect behavior, to know how to properly control anger and sadness that might have negative results on body and mind.

10. Coping with stress skill

is the ability to understand the cause of stress, to know how to relax from stress and how to control the level of stress in order to not behave improperly and to avoid health problem.
