Topic 2: The potential hazards at home

The loss of human life and property each year is substantial including the economic loss caused by several reasons. Someone may not have died, but became disabled and a burden to family and society.

The definition of a house accident

1. Home accidents are falls, blisters and burns from fire, exposure to toxics, cooking gas accidents, etc.

2. Accident prevention at home. We can prevent accidents at home by observing the

following principles.

- Be cautious, calm

- Be neat

- To give the knowledge how to use equipment

- Keep tools and equipment in good condition and repair damaged ones.

- Keep hazardous chemicals, such as pharmaceuticals, fuel, etc. out of reach of children.

- Avoid potentially hazardous areas such as damp andd dark wilderness, as it might be bumpy or rough.

- Pay attention when using cooking gas at home. Gas tanks must be closed after each use.

- Have fire extinguishers in the house and learn how to use them, place them in convenient locations.

- After offering incense extinguish the ember.
